Microbiology Theory /2/
General objectives / Goals
-Microbiology course involves the study of microorganisms with particular emphasis on the biology of bacteria, viruses, fungi and especially protozoan parasites.
- The main focus of our course is the protozoa and helminths pathogenic potential of the organisms that cause disease in Human. Basic virology and basic mycology, addition to hospital acquired infection.
- Their fundamental aim of providing quality patient care with professional ethics shall be strengthened if they think critically, plan strategies, and work with skill and effective communication.
Microbiology Practice /2/
Parasitology is the study of parasites, their hosts, and the relationship between them. As a biological discipline, the scope of parasitology is not determined by the organism or environment in question but by their way of life. This means it forms a synthesis of other disciplines, and draws on techniques from fields such as cell biology, bioinformatics, biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology, genetics, evolution and ecology.
Pathophysiology for Nursing
This course is designed to provide the nursing students with a comprehensive knowledge of the basic concepts and principles in path physiology including cell injury, etiology of cell injury, stress-adaptation and coping, inflammation and immunity, neoplasia, lymphoproliferative disorders, infectious processes. The course also focuses on physiological alternations associated with various pathological conditions such as alterations in oxygen transport, homeostasis-blood flow-blood pressure and cardiac function, heart failure, and alteration in respiratory function.
Computer Science /4/
In this course, one of the most important computer programs, Excel, is studied for creating tables, processing data, and using some equations for a set of functions that facilitate the user's work in various fields, as well as studying the most important basics of PowerPoint.
Pharmacology for Nursing /2/
This course is a continuation of the first module, this module covers drugs acting on the central nervous system, urinary system, antibiotics, blood clotting problems and role of nurse in caring of patient undergoing that drugs . The course also covers chemotherapy agents.
Adult Nursing /2/
This course focuses on comprehensive delivery of
nursing care to adults hospitalized for minor, or major, acute or chronic
conditions that are common in Iraq, incorporating theoretical knowledge and
clinical skills to providing comprehensive, holistic nursing care through the
nursing process. The concepts of pain, loss & grief, and stress will be
integrated in learning about a variety of adult medical-surgical problems.
These include: , cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, , neurological, urinary, endocrine, and ENT selected common problems.
